Thank you to a very thoughtful Penwortham resident, Marian Penrose, who has donated a wonderful £1,600 to Rosemere Cancer Foundation to buy six special tables to go over the treatment chairs in the centre’s Chemotherapy Day Case Unit here at Preston.
81-year-old Marian, who celebrates her diamond wedding anniversary in April with husband John, was diagnosed with asbestos related cancer in 2014 and underwent two lots of multiple chemotherapy day sessions at the unit as part of her treatment. She said: “When you are there for a full day, you need a table for drinks, food, your telephone and things. To have one makes for a more comfortable time.”
“As I had to be there for 8.30 am, I was usually lucky enough to get a chair with a table but I felt sorry for those who missed out. I can’t thank Rosemere Cancer Centre and my consultant enough for the treatment I have received, including being put on a clinical trial, as when I was diagnosed, I was told I had three to six months. That was seven years ago so this is my way of saying thank you.”
The Trust and the Rosemere Cancer Foundation would like to say a big thank you to Marian for her generous donation which will bring extra comfort to the lives of our patients.
