The Trust has been shortlisted for the main HSJ awards for our ASF and safety surveillance system in the category of the Patient Safety award.
This is in addition to the HSJ Patient Safety Awards nomination for the same programme.
We are passionate about patient safety and believe we are making huge contributions towards safety with our innovative 'Always Safety First' Programme.
As a learning organisation we are keen to share our successes and showcase what we are doing with the aim to contribute knowledge to the NHS and broader NHS organisations.
We hope recognition and awareness brought by the HSJ awards will encourage other trust to want to learn more about what we are doing and how we are doing
‘Always Safety First’ is our Trust response to the National Patient Safety Strategy and is a mind-set shift to making safety our highest priority and everyone’s responsibility.
Through wide consultation and design events we have co-developed a new approach to safety. We have designed and are delivering an iterative, large scale quality improvement programme.
Our theory of change is stunningly simple; if we can develop highly reliable systems and processes which can be measured and monitored in real time then we can reduce avoidable harm across the organisation.
In an impressive cohort of entries, 205 finalists have been selected according to a criteria of ambition, visionary spirit and a demonstrable positive impact on staff experience and patient care for the HSJ AWARDS 2021.
It is a real achievement to be short-listed and a fabulous opportunity to share the brilliant work more widely.
We congratulate everyone involved. The awards ceremony is on 18th November in London
