Did you know that within the trust we have 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners who have been selected to present at a national conference during the National ACP week.
Back in March 2020, Emma Foster and Cath Edwards met to discuss any work we could do to support patients with their initial COVID-19 recovery.
There were no known resources in existence at this time therefore the purpose of ‘COVID-19: Supporting your recovery’ web-resource was to address this identified gap in patient care. We knew that there was an urgent need for this so with the incredible help of the Blended Learning team and the wider MDT, managed to get the resource launched within 2-weeks of the initial ideas meeting.
It was designed in a multi-media patient friendly format which could be accessed via any device. We initially hoped it would support patients who were recently discharged from hospital with their ongoing recovery however it quickly became apparent that there was a huge need for support for individuals who may not have been admitted to hospital and were attempting to manage the virus at home with very little support or clinical input.
The web-resource was actively used 96,900 times in the first 12-months and was accessed by 100 countries including USA, Australia, Canada, France, India, Sweden and Finland.
A questionnaire was included to gather data and guide resource improvements and edits to ensure that the resource remained patient focused.
Patient feedback rated the experience of using the resource as 4.6/5 with 91% of users stating they would be likely or very likely to recommend the resource to others.
96% of patients reported the information in the resource as helpful in their recovery from COVID-19 and 95% of users felt the web-resource met or exceeded their expectations.
Astonishing.
