With effect from Thursday 24 th February 2022, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals will be operating a free park and ride shuttle service between Preston Business Centre and Royal Preston Hospital to help support the introduction of afternoon visiting arrangements.
Operating on weekdays only, the service will run from 12.15pm – 4pm on a continuous circuit between the two sites with the first service leaving PBC at 12.15pm and the final service aiming to leave RPH at 4pm.
The introduction of the 16 seater minibus, operated by Millers Taxis, is in recognition of the weekday afternoon parking pressures at Royal Preston whilst also offering outpatients or visitors with a free alternative to parking on-site.
Preston Business Centre is located around 1 mile from Royal Preston Hospital at the opposite end of Sharoe Green Lane, off Watling Street Road (PR2 8DY). The shuttle is expected to take around five minutes.
The pick-up / drop-off point at PBC will be by the Specialist Mobility Rehabilitation Centre entrance off Sharoe Green Lane and the designated pick-up / drop-off point at Royal Preston Hospital will be the on-site bus stop adjacent to the main entrance.
