Sister Anne, who retired recently from being a volunteer at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals after 24 years of loyal uninterrupted service, has been awarded a Platinum Jubilee Award
One of only 490 awards to be presented by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall, on behalf of The Royal Voluntary Society, to celebrate extraordinary volunteers who go the extra mile to improve the lives of others
Now in a convent on the south coast of England, Sister Anne said, upon being told of her award
“What a lovely surprise to receive this award I will wear the medal with pride. I wish all my friends and former colleagues at the hospital the very best. God bless you all”
