Professor Mike Thomas, chair of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, has been ratified as the new Chair of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Provider Collaborative Board (PCB).
He takes over from David Flory, chair of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB), who has stepped away from his PCB role now that the ICB has been established as a statutory organisation.
Mike, a practising clinical psychotherapist, has worked in academia and the health sector for nearly 40 years in a variety of senior academic roles, including Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Organisational Leadership.
Kevin McGee, Lead Chief Executive for the Provider Collaborative and Chief Executive of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, said: “Mike brings with him a wealth of experience and I’m looking forward to working with him more closely during the next phase of our collaboration journey.”
Mike added: “This is an exciting time for all providers to work closely and collaboratively for the benefit of our population.”
“Our vision is to improve health and care for our communities, while at the same time making Lancashire and South Cumbria a great place to work. I am looking forward to working with you all to make this vision a reality.”
To confirm, Mike will be continuing in his role as Chair of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay.
