Shazia Hafiz, a Locum Breast Consultant, is pounding the pavement for a good cause on Sunday.
Shazia is raising funds for a doppler to be available in theatres for breast surgery in the Central Lancashire Breast Unit at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.
With no funding available, Shazia has taken it upon herself to do a charity walk from her home in Salford to Chorley Hospital on Sunday with her husband – a distance which will equate to a marathon 26.2 miles, which should take in excess of seven hours to complete.
Shazia has only worked in the Unit for a couple of months, but this gesture certainly demonstrates her dedication to patient care and development.
As a unit, the staff will be present to welcome and congratulate her on Sunday.
She has already raised £1100, exceeding her target, and there is a justgiving page here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/shazia-hafiz1
