Locum Breast Consultant Shazia Hafiz set off at 4:30am on Sunday for her epic effort to raise money for the NHS Central Lancashire Chorley Breast Unit.
And, almost 28 miles and 12 hours later, 4:30am start, with mind and body weary, she completed her charity walk, from her home in Salford to Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.
Shazia said: “Sore feet but so worth it! What a great welcome from my colleagues at the NHS Central Lancashire Chorley Breast Unit.
“Thank you for making it such a special day to all those involved in fundraising and making the day possible!”
Shazia has only worked in the Unit for a couple of months, but this gesture certainly demonstrates her dedication to patient care and development.
She has already beaten her fundraising target, having raised £1,265 so far, and there is a JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/shazia-hafiz1
