An Apprenticeship Programme Trainer at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals has been recognised for her outstanding contribution and achievements at the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Awards last week.

Jane Parkinson, Apprenticeship Programmes Trainer at the Trust, won the Team Player Award at the award ceremony at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, Blackpool, on Friday night.

She was recognised for her hard work and dedication to deliver successful apprenticeships for young talent in the community at the Trust, and received her award from host and TV presenter, Owain Wyn Evans.

Including Jane, the Trust had 20 employees shortlisted across nine categories for the annual event, which celebrates the very best apprentices currently undertaking an apprenticeship, and still employed, within Lancashire and South Cumbria in an NHS or Social Care qualifying organisation and recognises their outstanding contribution and achievements over the last year.

Four other colleagues were also called up to the stage, as Highly Commended runners-up in their categories – Stephanie Higham (Equality and Diversity), Alexandra Rose Redfern (Rising Star T Level), Emily Greenall (Perseverance) and Anu John (Above and Beyond).

Jackie Higham, Head of Widening Participation and Apprenticeships at the Trust, said: “I’m so proud of our apprentices and apprenticeship delivery team.

“They are hardworking and dedicated, sometimes under challenging circumstances. Their recognition is very well deserved’.

Nominations for any of the 11 categories can be made by the employer, training provider or the apprentice themselves, with the Rising Star category also open to T Level students in their final year.

Congratulations to the following LTH employees who were also shortlisted:

Promotion - Christina Bolger; Rising Star Apprentice - Ismail Sidat; Rising Star T level     - Amelia Phipps, Saira Kausar; Equality and Diversity - Christina Bolger, Jemma Yates, Olivia Dymond; Team Player - Jane Parkinson; Perseverance - Charlotte Walmsley, Claire Bain; Non-Clinical - Matthew Turner; Innovation - Bethany Holmes, Charlotte Carter, Michelle Knowles.
