If you have had chance to take a moment and a seat on one of the many benches around Royal Preston Hospital, you may have seen a plaque encouraging people to #sitwithhope - @goodgrieftrust‘s national initiative to ensure patients, staff and visitors know where to turn for help at the most difficult times of their life.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals are proud to support the campaign – the Help and Hope plaques have QR codes to increase awareness and signpost bereaved people to local support via the goodgrief.org website, with 1,000+ charities and services under one umbrella. Help wherever you live.
That support is particularly pertinent on the back of #NationalGriefAwarenessWeek which came to a close on Sunday. The plaques at RPH at around the duck pond, at the Gordon Hesling entrance, in the chapel and in the memorial garden, and they will shortly be installed on benches across our site at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.
Natalie Clough, Lead Bereavement and Tissue Donation Nurse, said: “I’m proud that LTHTR are supporting this national initiative. Having these plaques placed around our site, including in our memorial garden, will signpost patients, visitors and staff to support as they sit, reflect and remember.”
