Construction of the Day Case and Eye Unit at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital continues to progress at speed and in line with the original programme, despite the weather challenges faced over the past month which have included wind, torrential down pours and snow, not to mention the cold. We thank Interserve and their contractors for persevering and working innovatively to maintain that programme, whilst facing pandemic challenges.
The drone footage has been commissioned by the Trust to keep the wider team updated on progress, you will see that the building floors have now been constructed and internal floors are in place, with the external walls in progress. There will be a link to the main hospital on the first and second floor, with the building four storeys high in total:
- Ground floor - Providing staff support accommodation
- First floor – The outpatient department for diagnostic, consultant and nurse-led clinics, Orthoptist service, Laser procedures and Macular Injection clinics
- Second floor - Day case theatre suite
- Third floor - Plant Room/Building services and IT infrastructure provision
