Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity is launching their first-ever virtual Super Spring Challenge on Thursday 1st April.
With many fundraising events cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic, participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to sign up for the virtual Super Spring Challenge in support of their local NHS Charity.
Registration is free and supporters are asked to set themselves a challenge from an activity that they most enjoy.
Participants can complete their challenge in one go, or for beginners at a gradual pace over four-weeks, as long as it links in with the number 30 to represent the number of days in April.
Two participants who have already signed up are Leah Eccles, nine, and her sister Faye, four. The sisters have chosen to put pencil to paper and will be drawing 30 pictures - one a day - throughout April, to acknowledge the work of their mum, Natalie Eccles, who is a Domestic Assistant at the Royal Preston Hospital and has been working throughout the pandemic.
Natalie said: “Hospital workers are said to be heroes with superpowers helping people in need. Leah and Faye want to share their superpower of drawing as after all, the superheroes need help too. I'm so proud of both of them; they can't wait to get started.”
Leah added: 'Me and Faye both love drawing and wanted to take part in the Spring Challenge to help children who are poorly get better.”
So whether it is drawing 30 pictures, running 30 laps of your garden, or 30 minutes of singing and dancing to 30 minutes of walking or cycling; your fundraising support will contribute to improving patient and staff experience at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The only other requirement aside from doing something that makes you happy is to adhere to the latest Government Covid-19 guidelines on exercise and social distancing.

We encourage everyone, of all ages and abilities to get involved. In a year where our fundraising efforts have been greatly affected, any support from members of our community is hugely appreciated and goes a long way to improving patient care at our hospitals.”
