Prerana Issar, Chief People Officer of the NHS; and Samantha Allen, Chair of the Health & Care Women Leaders Network, invite all women and allies in health and care to participate in a nationwide celebration on 8th March 2021.
The day starts with a tweet chat at 7.30am. The main event starts at 10am and will end at 4pm. You can see the full programme here.
The event is designed to fit around the busy lives of women in health and care, so you are welcome to take part in as much or little of the event as you want to.
#EverydayCourage
Our theme is #EverydayCourage in tribute to the courage being demonstrated by women in health and care during these extraordinary times. We see the everyday courage of our women colleagues working at the point of care during Covid, especially women of colour who work with extra risk. We see the everyday courage of women who juggle work with home schooling or other caring responsibilities. We need the everyday courage to take action for a different future, based on gender equality and social justice.
Our aim for the celebration is for participants to be:
- Inspired by the everyday courage we see demonstrated by ordinary people during these extraordinary times.
- Feel unstoppable and uplifted – being the change we want to see, accelerating our path to gender equality.
- Able to undertake acts of change.
- Have a sense of belonging and solidarity with others.
