Biography

Mr. Volpini earned his Medical Degree (MD) from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 2010. After obtaining licensure with the Italian Medical Board, he commenced his Specialty Training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the same institution, successfully completing the program in 2016. Subsequently, he relocated to the UK, where he spent two years working and refining his training within the Head and Neck Unit at Guy’s Hospital in London, after which he was awarded the Senior Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Surgical Oncology from the Royal College of Surgeons. He then served as a Consultant Head and Neck Surgeon, both in Italy and South-West Wales. In these roles, he dedicated himself to enhancing the head and neck cancer care pathway in rural regions. He then went on to complete the Senior Clinical Fellowship in Thyroid - Parathyroid - Head and Neck Surgery at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool. Subsequently, after achieving qualification to practice medicine in the United States, he completed the prestigious Clinical Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He permanently joined the Head and Neck team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in August 2023. He concomitantly joined the Team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital with the specific purposes of providing Head and Neck Cancer services for the population of Blackpool and Fylde Coast, and working together with the Cardiothoracic team for the regional complex head and neck endocrine service.
