Research
Mr Dalal has had over 50 scientific publications in scientific journal and presentations in National & International conferences. He has always been interested in clinical research. He has also supervised laboratory-based research projects at the University of Central Lancashire in the past. His focus now is mainly on clinical research.
In his most recent notable clinical research work he described a new surgical technique called PTO flap for perineal reconstruction following ELAPE surgery to reconstruct the pelvic floor after radical anorectal cancer resection by Colorectal Surgeons which was published in the Annals of Plastic Surgery.
Following the description of this novel surgical technique Mr Dalal was Invited as reviewer by the Dutch Cancer Society for their multicentre research project to use this technique as a standard for reconstruction after anorectal cancer resection in Europe - Project number / Title: 11924 / Perineal turnover perforator flap for closure of the perineal wound after abdominoperineal resection for rectal cancer, BIOPEX 2-study.

Biography
Mr Milind Dalal graduated from Bombay University in 1989. He then trained as a General Surgeon and acquired the General Surgery qualification, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). He commenced his training in Plastic Surgery in 1992 in India and acquired the MCh(Plast) from University of Bombay. He then continued his training in Plastic Surgery in the UK in London, Wales, and then completed his Higher Surgical training in Plastic Surgery in the West Midlands. After acquiring the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship in Plastic Surgery FRCS(Plast) he completed a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at McIndoe Surgical Centre at East Grinstead, and a prestigious Fellowship in Microsurgery at Chang Gung Hospital in Taiwan. He was appointed as Consultant in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the NHS at Royal Preston Hospital, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Preston.
Mr Dalal undertakes a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive Plastic Surgical procedures. He also has an active and busy cosmetic surgery and medicolegal practice in Preston, Chorley, the Fylde Coast, and East Lancashire. He provides Plastic Surgery services in skin cancer, breast reconstruction, chest wall & perineal reconstruction and hand surgery in the North West.
Mr Dalal is also known for his expertise in hypospadias surgery and provides the largest Plastic Surgery training resource for this surgery in North West England. He has always taken a keen interest in training junior doctors, particularly in Plastic Surgery and trains of junior doctors in Plastic Surgery at Royal Preston Hospital.
