He is involved in regional efforts to harmonise and improve the quality of Pathology Services across the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System.
He helps in doing this via his appointment as discipline chair for Immunology at the Clinical Reference Group for the Pathology Collaboration.
He has also recently taken up the role as the lead for the Clinical Immunology and Allergy Service at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
His was appointed as a member to the NHS England Clinical Reference Group for Specialised Immunology and Allergy Services in 2021 and he continues to hold this post.
Biography
Dr Anantharachagan started as a substantive Consultant Clinical Immunologist at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals in January 2017. Since his appointment, he has been instrumental in getting the Clinical Immunology and Allergy Service specialised commissioned.
He also sits on the Early Phase Experimental Medicine Study Review Committee at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and review the feasibility of proposed Clinical Trial of Investigational Medicinal Products. He is the local Principal Investigator for a couple of multicentre studies.
He was appointed as a member of the Local Negotiating Committee for the British Medical Association at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals in July 2020.
He is also a regional representative of the North West of England Allergy and Clinical Immunology Network, which aims to harmonise the delivery of good quality clinical care for adult patients with allergies and immunodeficiencies.
