The Ophthalmology Department operates from both Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital providing specialist services to patients from across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The service provides diagnostics and treatment for patients with medical eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, squints, eye lid/corneal problems, and eye injuries.
Our consultant team has specialist expertise in oculoplastics, orbit and lacrimal surgery, glaucoma, diabetes, medical retina, vitreoretinal surgery, neuro ophthalmology and paediatric ophthalmology, and cornea and anterior segment diseases. We also provide an orthoptics service.
The ophthalmology team includes consultants, middle grade doctors, optometrists and orthoptists.
Outpatient clinics are held daily.
