Anticoagulant

Contact number:   01257 247104

Anticoagulant medicines reduce the ability of the blood to clot, and are used to prevent a range of conditions including strokes and heart attacks.  The Haematology Department provides a complete anticoagulant service, including INR (blood clotting time) tests and calculating the correct dosage of anticoagulant.  Regular anticoagulant clinics are held at both hospitals.

You can access the anticoagulant service via a referral from your GP.

Anticoagulant Service – Chorley Clinics Update

We would like to inform patients and staff that the Anticoagulant Service clinics previously held in the Pathology Department at Chorley District Hospital have now moved to Main Outpatients.

Please note that this change is due to the relocation of the Blood Test Clinic into the previous space within Pathology.

For any further information, please contact the Anticoagulant Service directly: 01257 247104
