From the moment you are referred to our hospitals for treatment, or arrive in our Emergency Department, we believe that you should receive excellent care with compassion. This means the best possible treatment, provided with compassion, in a way that recognises and responds to your individual needs, and involves you in decisions about your care.
If you have concerns about your condition or need more information about your treatment, please do speak with your consultant or a nurse, we are always happy to help.
Improving patient experience
Your views about your care and treatment are important to us, and will help us make improvements for you and for others in the future. We regularly ask both inpatients and outpatients about your experiences of hospital care and you can tell us what you think by clicking here.
Centre for health, research and innovation
As a centre for health, research and innovation we lead and participate in a wide range of national and international studies and clinical trials to develop new drugs and treatments and improve practice. Participating in research enables to you to access drugs and treatments that aren’t yet readily available, and improve healthcare for future generations. If you are interested in research opportunities for your condition please speak with your consultant or specialist nurse.
Teaching future generations
As a teaching hospital we educate trainee doctors, nurses and health professionals. This ensures a medical workforce is continuously developing for future generations and encourages our staff to challenge traditional methods and explore new ideas. You will always be asked for your permission for students to observe or participate in your care – if you are not comfortable please do say so, nobody will be offended.
