As part of our teaching hospitals status, we are fantastically privileged to have on-site Education Centres for our Health Academy. Here, our staff can use lecture halls, seminar rooms and our state-of-the-art simulation centre, to pass on their expertise to students, colleagues and trainees.
We also have global partnerships with other health organisations and charities, allowing our medical staff to use their skills to impart vital knowledge on doctors in disaster-stricken countries, form exchange programmes to give foreign students the opportunity to gain placements in our hospitals, fundraise for and donate essential equipment, and hold courses for basic, life-saving skills that medical professionals in other countries might not otherwise have access to.
Helping others is at the core of what we do, and we think it's fantastic that our staff strive to selflessly provide skills and support to communities who need it most.
Teaching Talents
North West Hip Fracture Masterclass: Our Surgical Trainees have recently held an exciting new course within our hospitals, with great success. The North West Hip Fracture Masterclass was a practical-based workshop that focused specifically on hip fracture management. In addition to the 12 Core Surgical Trainees in attendance, two of our excellent consultants, Mr. Amol Chitre and Mr. Richard Boden, were on hand to provide a consultant-led experience. Very generously, Stryker (a globally recognised medical technology company), sponsored the event and donated a host of kit and equipment to give the delegates the most immersive workshop possible.
