Lancashire Teaching Hospitals now have hospital guides working across both our sites at Preston and Chorley.
The overall purpose of this services is to support our patients, families and visitors and provide a guide that escorts them to their destination within the hospital. People can be sure of a warm welcome and support to overcome any feelings of worry or stress in relation to getting to their appointment/departments on time.
This role is also very beneficial to people who have issues relating to sight, disability, be it physical or learning, and those who need support physically perhaps with a chair or assistance dog to find their intended location.
We hope in providing this service that this enhances a good patient experience as we continue to show that being caring and compassionate is at the heart of everything we do.
If you would like to book a hospital guide in advance to meet you at the doors, please email us at patientexperienceandinvolvem@LTHTR.nhs.uk giving us enough notice to be able to plan and be there for you at the correct time.
